About

Small studio. Big production. The whole sky to work with.

I'm Ville Launiala, founder of HueSky Oy. I've worked in visual communication for over 27 years – starting in graphic design and growing to cover the full range of creative production, from video to live streaming.

Along the way I've worked as an Art Director, graphic designer, photographer and videographer, editor, studio director, UI designer and marketing specialist. That's why I don't just look at the picture – I look at what it needs to achieve.

When the same person handles the shoot, post-production and publishing channels, the result is consistent and costs stay under control. No middlemen, no broken telephone – you always deal directly with the maker.

Service area: Helsinki and Southern Finland, elsewhere by agreement.

Working languages: Finnish and English. I studied in Manchester and have worked in Finland, Greece and Austria.

Background

The road from idea to execution

27 years of visual communication – a route that ran from ski slopes and Manchester to Nokia's campaign sites and the walls of Finnair's crew lobby.

01

Detours and lessons

It all started with curiosity. Skateboarding and snowboarding mattered more than textbooks for a long while, and secondary school stretched to four years. But once studying finally clicked, it took over: I graduated magna cum laude. The lesson still holds – when something genuinely interests you, the result is on another level.

02

Pixels and prototypes

From computer science at the University of Manchester I moved to Satama Interactive to build the digital future. I designed device prototypes for BMW and Vodafone back when smartphones didn't really exist yet, and built international campaign sites for several Nokia phone models. I was one of three art directors on HIM's Heartagram site, and created the Finnish film campaigns for The Blair Witch Project and Minority Report. Agrinet took the M&M Grand Prix award for best e-commerce site.

03

The scale of big brands

At Zeeland and Trainers' House the work grew into Art Director and producer roles: I directed, shot and edited films and created multi-camera studio productions. At Trainers' House I produced a huge amount of print for Finnair and Marimekko – from books and booklets to posters, flyers and wall-sized prints for Finnair's crew lobby. This is where graphic design, photography and cinematic storytelling merged into a single process.

04

Everything under one roof

Today the logic of code, the precision of graphic design and a cinematic eye have all distilled into HueSky. I'm no longer one part of the production chain – I'm the whole chain. From idea to finished work, straight from the maker.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does a video or photo project cost?

Packages start from €400–900 depending on the service, and every service comes in three sizes. You'll find the starting prices on the service pages. You get a fixed price before anything is agreed – no hourly-billing surprises. I'll give you the exact figure as soon as I hear your goals and schedule.

How quickly will I get the finished work?

A typical corporate video is ready 1–3 weeks after the shoot, photos within a few days. The schedule is always agreed in the quote – and kept. A live stream is ready the moment the broadcast ends, and I can cut a highlight reel afterwards.

What area do you serve?

I'm based in Helsinki and work across Southern Finland. Elsewhere in Finland by agreement – any travel costs are always visible in the quote up front.

Can you fly a drone anywhere?

Not quite – which is why flights are handled by a registered operator. I check airspace restrictions and take care of the required notifications as part of the project. Most business locations can be filmed without issues.

Who owns the rights to the photos and videos?

You get the agreed usage rights to all delivered material – typically unlimited use in your company's marketing. The scope of rights and the handling of raw footage are written into the quote, so nothing is left unclear.

How many revision rounds are included?

The number agreed in the quote, typically two rounds of comments – which is almost always enough. Small tweaks are handled flexibly at no extra charge.
